were all parolled and sent out of our lines.
" 6th The 13th A.C. Started for Jackson. the Expedition was under command of Genl. Sherman. after several days fighting they drove the rebs out of the city and returned to Black river on the 23rd.
" 24th The 9th Division marched to Vicksburg. the 13th Corps go into camp just below the city alon the river where we stay 19 days.
Aug 1st Get two months Pay.
" 13th Our Brigade embark on the Marine fleet and go down the river to Carrollton, La 5 miles above New Orleans arriving there on the night of the 15th. debarked on the 16th and go into camp 1/2 mile from town alon the shell road. Staid here until the 6th of September. on the 26th & 29th had Grand review by Genl. Banks and Sept 4th by Genl Grant
