Hall diary

through Gallipolis and camped 1 1/2 miles from town on the bank of the Ohio river. the country is very nice around here.
" 23rd Resumed our march at 6 A.M. Marched 3 miles and crossed the river at Point Pleasant Va. and went to ten mile creek marching 13 miles in all. our road was along the Kanawha River. the roads were in excellent condition and the country beautiful.
" 24th Resumed our march at 7 A.M. and went 13 miles. passed through Buffalo. Splendid country.
" 25th Went 8 miles to day and arrived at Red House about noon where we camped until 29th. we had hardly got our tents
