Below is transcribed the official regimental roster of soldiers drafted in 1862 into the 16th OVI for a period of nine months. It includes any misprints or other mistakes. Entries are sorted alphabetically by last name, first name. Additional Note: It may be observed that the number of drafted soldiers who died during their service seems disproportionately high compared to the volunteers. However, this may be explained by the fact the nine months these soldiers served happened to include the most deadly battles experienced by the 16th OVI, those being the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou and the subsequent battles for and siege of Vicksburg, including Champion's Hill and Big Black River.
