first rate water near camp. Staid here 12 days.
" 31st Took up our line of march this morning at 6 oclock for London county seat of Laurel County. we marched 16 miles over a rough and mountainous road halting about dark and owing to the bad roads the teams did not get up so we were obliged to do the best we could in sheds and in the woods. had a cold rain lasting most of the night which made it very disagreeable. just beginning to get a taste of Soldiering.
Feb 1st The teams arriving about 12 Oclock we started out again and went 2 miles and camped on the bank of buck creek. were joined by the 9th Ohio Battery
