Hall diary

" 21st Orders were issued to be ready to march at 12 Oclock to night. we set out at the appointed time and as the night was dark and the roads rough it was very bad marching. we went 10 miles stoping at 10 Oclock on the 22nd and rested until 5 P.M. when we started again going 9 miles and camped until 3 1/2 Oclock A.M. of the 23rd resuming our march until 9 A.M. Passed a burning Spring this morning. after halting we drew some flour and baked it. resumed our march at 12 M. and marched to Proctor on the Ky. river. arrived there about 8 Oclock in the evening having marched 29 miles.
" 24th Resumed our march at ten A.M. and went 15 miles halting at 8 Oclock P.M.
" 25th Resumed our march at 8 A.M.
