Cyrus B. Anderson was born in Blachleyville, Wayne Co., Ohio, Aug. 29, 1837. He enlisted at Reedsburg, Sept. 7, 1861, in Co. I, 16th O.V.I.; was mustered in the U. S. service at Camp Tiffin, Ohio, Oct. 7, by Lieut. Geo. Jones; was mustered out at Camp Chase, Ohio, Oct. 31, 1864. He re-enlisted in Co. C, 39th O. V. V. I. April 4, 1865; discharged at Louisville, Ky., July 9, 1865. He is living on a farm near Granby, Mo., R. F. D. No. 1. Granby is in the southwestern part of Missouri.
