An interesting notation in blue pencil is believed to read, Capt. Botsford will be up on the Starlight. The Starlight was a Union steamboat which the 16th Ohio encountered while on the Bayou Teche campaign in November, 1863, near Berwick, Louisiana. It is believed this is a notation that Capt. Eli Botsford would be re-joining the regiment, coming from points unknown, aboard this boat.
