Below are images related to the Union Veterans Union, an association of Civil War veterans formed by M. A. Dillon in 1886. Dillon believed the common Civil War soldier veterans were not being served well by the huge Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) organization and formed the UVU to address the local and immediate needs of the common soldier. The UVU is still an active organization today.
