This is an image of a 22nd Kentucky flag bearer holding the remnants of that regiment's flags after the Battle of Chickasaw Bayou, December 29, 1862. The 16th Ohio was the lead regiment in the attack on Chickasaw Bluffs and the 22nd Kentucky was next, both regiments suffering terrible losses.
