The Four Tipton Brothers of Company B - Three Came Home
• Hiram and James captured at Battle of Tazewell, Tennessee,Aug. 6, 1862. Released nine days later.
• James and Solomon captured at Battle of Chickasaw Bayou, Mississippi, Dec. 29. 1862. Released four months later.
• Hiram, James and Jonathan wounded at Battle of Chickasaw Bayou.
• Solomon died of Typhoid Aug. 4, 1864, at New Orleans, Louisiana, just eight weeks before going home.
