Snare Drum

Below is a military snare drum used by Musician Franklin Feeman of Company K. The drum is at the Wayne County Historical Society museum in Wooster, Ohio. A photo of Franklin Feeman is shown in the display case. It is believed this photo was of Feeman some time after the war, possibly wearing the uniform of a band member as he was part of the Young America Band in central Ohio, ca. 1877.

An additional photo of Feeman, some years later, shows him wearing the same medal as in the photo below. The medal is believed to represent membership in the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.), an organization for Civil War veterans.
